SKETTY AIRMAN LOST
Cwmtwrch Connections
The people of Cwmtwrch were deeply grieved to learn of the loss in action of Sergeant Wireless Operator, Brian Griffiths, son of Mr. and Mrs. Willie Griffiths of Sketty, formerly of this district. It is learnt that his plane was shot down into the sea and he was drowned. Other members of the crew were saved. Brian, who was of a charming disposition, was very popular in Cwmwrch, where he spent many holidays with his relatives. A short while ago he was honoured at a reception concert, which was reported in these columns at the time. After leaving the elementary school, Brian proceeded to Llandovery College and later joined the Swansea staff of Brynhenllys Colliery as an accountant. Sincere sympathy is extended to the bereaved parents and local relatives.
