David Naunton Thomas
David Naunton Thomas served in the Fleet Air Arm in the Royal Navy and was killed in April 1942 when the aircraft carrier HMS Hermes was sunk by Japanese aircraft off the coast of Ceylon (now Sir Lanka).

KILLED IN ACTION
News was received last week that David Naunton, eldest son of the late Mr. and Mrs. David Thomas of 25, Cwmtawe Road, Penrhos, has been killed in action.
Naunton, who was 21 years of age, was educated at Penrhos Council and Maes y Dderwen County Schools. He joined the Fleet Air Arm three years ago and served on the Aircraft carrier Hermes for the past two years.
